University of Minnesota Turf Club The Turf Club is a student chapter of the Golf Course Superintendent's Association of America (GCSAA). As a student chapter, we provide an opportunity for students to network with peers and professionals in the field, promote turfgrass management as a profession and instill the proper ethics and understandings of a turfgrass manager's cultural environment. Bi-weekly meetings are held, in which, guest speaker's talk on turf related topics, fundraising activities are organized and our annual trip is planned. As a club, we do various educational activities; most notably traveling to the annual GCSAA conference and show to compete in the collegiate Turf Bowl competition. The Turf Bowl is a 3-hour written exam testing our knowledge in the area of turfgrass management. Teams are made up of four people, with approximately 70 teams competing from around the United States . The top scoring teams are posted in Golf Course Management Magazine. Non turfgrass majors are more than welcome to be involved with this club. site under construction
